Royals Seek Club Coach for GBA Season 2022

Ballarat Royals Baseball Club is seeking the services of a Club Coach for season 2022 and beyond.

The Ballarat Royals have recently formed after the merger of established clubs Ballarat City Brewers & Mounties YC. The Club has a rich history in the Ballarat region, known for its strong community ties and local support, we are seeking a coach (either Playing or Non-Playing) who can build on the excellent foundations that have been laid over the past three years since merge & who has the capacity to further develop & guide our existing playing group, along with our Junior Players transitioning through to Senior Baseball. The Ballarat Royals Baseball Club field four (4) Senior teams in the Geelong Baseball Association throughout the Winter, & coordinate a Junior program (T-Ball & Little League) throughout the Summer also entering an U/16 team in the BV Metro West League.

KEY COACHING OBJECTIVES INCLUDE:
• Development & deployment of game day strategy, including designing & implementing the senior training program, team selection & overseeing all aspects of coaching on game days.
• Liaising with coaching staff, junior coordinators, reporting to club board members & engaging volunteers in a range roles.
• A leading role in player retention, player recruitment & skills development.
• Relationship management with internal & external club stakeholders.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:
• The desire & drive to achieve personal & team success, with a focus on leading the club into finals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership & communication in driving the culture of the players, support staff & the club generally.
• Knowledge & experience as a coach in the development of game plans, training techniques & player skills to support objectives.
• Ability to identify & recruit new players & officials to the Club, including support staff as required.
• ABL coaching accreditation or preparedness to complete.
• An outgoing personality, engaging with members, sponsors, GBA & local media to promote the Club & its brand.

The role of Head Coach is a paid position, with competitive remuneration available for the successful applicant.
